Insight into NEET 2018

 

NEET is conducted annually to provide admissions to MBBS and BDS courses in medical and dental institutions across the country. This year, 13.26 lakh candidates registered for NEET 2018 and about 12.62 appeared for the same. The provisional and final result of the first round of counselling conducted for 15% all India Quota seats and all the seats available in Central and Deemed Universities has been declared on June 23, 2018. Only those candidates who qualified the exam were eligible to attend the counselling round. The list of important dates from it's notification to the last step of joining is given below:

Cutoff 2018

The qualifying cutoff is the minimum marks required by the candidates to qualify the entrance examination which has been released by CBSE along with the release of NEET results 2018. Only the qualified candidates, ie. those who score NEET cutoff requirement, will be eligible to apply for further counselling sessions. During the counselling process, counselling authorities of NEET 2018 will release their own merit lists containing names or ranks of candidates called for various rounds of counselling. The cutoff will, however, be the minimum entry requirement for preparation of various merit lists. The ranks of NEET 2018 which will be called for counselling sessions will vary from state to state depending on factors like the number of seats available, seat reservation criteria, etc.
